Furthermore, three undergraduate study programs in FEB UNS, Management, Accounting, and Development Economics Study Program have been accredited ‘A’ (Excellent) by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT).

In addition, the study programs have also been accredited by the Asean University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) and the International Agency for Quality Assurance (AQAS) with conditional status. Upon this status, the three Undergraduate Study Programs have sent supporting and revised documents for several required aspects to the AQAS. Hopefully, AQAS can immediately process all amendments, thus, an accreditation certificate with unconditional status can be issued.

Meanwhile, Imronudin, S.E., M.Si, Ph.D., Vice Dean III of FEB UMS said that his visit to FEB UNS aims to improve the quality of learning at the FEB UMS Management Study Program, both for the regular and international classes. “We from the Management Study Program Team to conduct a benchmarking study to FEB UNS Management Study Program, related to the regular and international classes, international accreditation, and also international class management. Because we see UNS is one step ahead of us,” he explained.

At the beginning of the opening remarks, Dr. Atmaji said that his duty as the Head of the Management Study Program was greatly helped by the Task Force Team, both for the preparation of the re-accreditation process, Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Program implementation, and international classes.

Students who have completed the MBKM Program, are directed to write the final project which corresponds to their study interests.

“For example, for students who take MBKM internships in finance, we will recognize 20-semester credits with courses in finance, this also applies to other interests taken by students,” he explained.

At the beginning of his material, Yudha shared that the material needed for accreditation was already available and only needed suitable formulation to meet the assessor’s requirements and demand. On-site assessment usually takes around two days, which requires the Study Program to prepare various supporting documents.

Further, he clarifies that on the first day of the on-site assessment, several agendas commonly take place, such as the opening ceremony, assessment session with the Head of Study Program Management (UPPS), consisting of the assessed University Rector, Faculty Dean, Head of Study Program, Quality Control and Assurance Team, and Accreditation Task Force team members.

Another assessment on the first day is the Data and Information confirmation session to check for the quantitative data contained in the Study Program Quantitative Data (DKPS) section. This assessment is attended by the Head of the university Quality Assurance team, who will deliver a brief explanation regarding the semester learning plan. The session to assess the internal quality assurance document will be conducted continuously. Meanwhile, other assessment sessions involving external parties can be managed according to the program condition and conducted in the panel room.

On the second day of the site assessment, the assessor will deliver their feedback and conclude the site visit with a closing ceremony.

As for the self-assessment report, the program will need supporting documents, such as the MBKM report; international class management report, which covers language usage, electronic book, and student exchange program; research funding; partnership and collaboration output, such as research, education partnership, and PKM, since they were related with funding and infrastructure; students’ achievement at the international level, including training, championship, and conference; and international collaboration in team teaching, but not limited to general lecture. Meanwhile, the exchange program is not limited to in-person participation.

For the DKPS, the study program needs to prepare employment data including expertise background; Full Time Performance Equivalent (EWMP) calculation that includes home sessions and external teaching sessions (at other study programs aside from the original program); user satisfaction related to quality assurance team, including the questionnaire used, result, and report; and students output including conference, intellectual property rights (IPR), and collaboration with lecturers.

He also stated that to obtain an ‘excellent’ score, a study program needs to get more than 18 points out of the 27 dimensions required by LAMEMBA.

A question and answer session ensues following the material dissemination session. This agenda is expected to be beneficial for the Accounting Study Program and allow the program to be better prepared to face the LAMEMBA accreditation.

The recent workshop hosted by the Study Program invited Associate Professor Clotilde Coron, Ph.D., from IAE Paris Sorbonne Business School, France. Prof. Coron previously delivered numerous topics in the earlier sessions of this Visiting Professor Program. In this session, Prof. Coron shared the steps of the Human Resource Management (HRM) research article publication.

Starting the presentation, Prof. Coron reminded participants that before starting to write a research article, a researcher must read a substantial amount of published research articles as part of the critical literature review process. “Before starting writing, you need to read first because there are much different writing styles, and there is a specific writing style for each field or certain research methodology,” explains Prof. Coron.

For around one hour, Prof. Coron also explained the six stages of preparing a research article, such as planning, finding a suitable publishing outlet, understanding the article structure according to the destination journal requirements, characteristics of good writing, focusing on the introduction, and the abstract.

“Before your final article draft is completed, it is better to find a suitable journal outlet according to the research topic because each journal has its specific format and structure requirements for prospective articles. Thus, while preparing for the final draft, you need to follow the requirement and criteria set by the publisher. Lastly, a good article is well articulated and easy to understand,” said Prof. Coron. The workshop continued with a question and answer session and concluded with article discussions between the lecturer of the Management Study Program and Prof. Coron.

  • Another Visiting Professor Lecture, Management Study Program Takes on Organizational Justice and Flexibility

Another Visiting Professor Lecture, Management Study Program Takes on Organizational Justice and Flexibility

Hosting another event under the Visiting Professor Program for the Kompetisi Kampus Merdeka Program (PKKM) 2022, the Bachelor of Management Study Program, FEB UNS, invited Associate Professor Clotilde Coron from IAE Paris Sorbonne Business School France. In the current Guest Lecture Management agenda, Assoc. Prof. Coron delivers material entitled ‘Organizational Justice and Flexibility’ through the Zoom Cloud Meeting platform. The Guest Lecture session was conducted on Wednesday, December 7th, 2022, and was led by Dr. Wulan Permatasari as Moderator.

The material presentation started with the organization configuration approach proposed by Mintzberg regarding the five internal actors in an organization, namely, the strategic plan officer (executive), middle management, center operation, technostructure, and supporting staff. “In the organizational configuration approach, each part of the five categories has a different role,” said Prof. Coron.

Related to Mintzberg’s approach, Prof. Coron further explains five coordination mechanisms that can be applied to different types of organizations. One of the coordination mechanisms is Participative Management (mutual adjustment), which is suitable for an organization with high competency and qualification, where only limited formal coordination is needed. “Example of this mechanism is project management, innovation research, and organization with complex problems. However, the challenge in applying this model is determining the collective objective. Because without this objective, the organization cannot operate well,” explains Prof. Coron.

The discussion about organization management is followed by the advantage of systems in human resource management and the significance of workplace flexibility. According to Prof. Coron, this flexibility is crucial in this VUCA environment, where transformation can happen quickly. For an organization, flexibility can be defined as the capacity to execute an initiative quickly and the capability to adjust organizational processes and structure.

Concluding the material presentation, Prof. Coron discussed organizational justice and the contribution of various theories in human resource management research. At the end of the session, students participated in an enthusiastic question-and-answer session with Prof. Coron.
