Faculty of Economics and Business Alumni Association (KAFEB) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) hosted a Halal bi halal and Grand Reunion entitled ‘NYARENG (Nyangkruk Ngguyu Bareng)’ on Saturday 6 May 2023 at Plataran Kinandari South Jakarta.

The agenda was attended by more than 1,000 FEB UNS Alumni from various generations. Although conducted in Jakarta, the event managed to garner high enthusiasm, proven with attendees from more than 100 cities/municipalities across Indonesia. The Dean of FEB UNS, Prof. Dr. Djoko Suhardjanto, M.Com (Hons). Ak., revealed that he highly appreciated the grand agenda.

“I appreciate the effort of the organizing committee, especially the Chairman of KAFEB UNS, who managed to invite participants from all 46 FEB UNS alumni batches. This is an impressive feat. Hopefully, next time we can create a room where we can account for the alumni’s contribution to the institution—FEB UNS, UNS, the nation, and the country,” he states.

The Chairman of KAFEB UNS, Doni Primanto Joewono, FEB Alumni of 1983, who currently is the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Indonesia, reveals that the main objective of this ‘Nyareng‘ agenda is to strengthen the network between FEB UNS Alumni across generations, and as medium of communication between alumni and FEB UNS.

He further emphasized that KAFEB UNS is a professional, academic, and social organization, instead of political one. The objective of the KAFEB UNS is to prepare an intellectual, productive, and competitive graduates who are willing to serve the community, following Indonesian culture and noble character through the Higher Education Tri Dharma. The objective is therefore exclusively to prepare professional alumni and to support them in entering the job market.

The Chairman of KAFEB UNS also thanks the Dean of FEB UNS for approving the wishes proposed by KAFEB to establish a Coding and Bigdata Laboratory in FEB UNS and to establish Digital Business Study Program as wished by Prof. Wimboh Santoso.

“It is one of the wishes of Prof. Wimboh to have a new study program in Digital Business at FEB UNS. Alhamdulillah, this wish has been accomplished. Additionally, students need a laboratory in coding and big data in this digital economy world. Thank you to the Dean of FEB UNS, for listening and making our wishes come true,” said Doni.

KAFEB UNS also has established several programs to establish a synergy with the university (UNS), among others are, Alumni Tracer through an up-to-date database, ‘Alumni Menginspirasi‘ (Inspiring Alumni) program applied through teaching or other academics activity, networking and connecting through job fair, internship, volunteering, and charity, which often conducted through a scholarship for outstanding FEB UNS students who face economy constraint.

The wish of the senior alumni to the younger generation is to set up an endowment fund under a mentoring from senior colleagues. “On this occasion, let us together establish an endowment fund for our campus. Even though we are now alumni, our contribution to the alma mater and nations shall not stop,” Doni concluded.

Also attending the event was UNS Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information, Prof. Irwan Trinugroho, M.Sc, Ph.D. NYARENG is enlivened with several events such as a talkshow on MSME Transformation, a sharing session for alumni, a karaoke competition, an MSME food street festival, and concluded with a special performance by Reza Arthamevia.

Maintaining the discipline of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) employees, UNS Leaders conduct impromptu investigations of the Faculty, Schools, UNS Hospitals, and Work Units within the UNS campus environment following the end of Eid al-Fitr holiday 1444 H, Wednesday, April 26, 2023. The Rector and a number of UNS Leaders visited the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNS and were welcomed by the Dean, Head of Study Programs, Lecturers, and Academic Support Staff Personnel at the Lobby of Soeharno Building.

Based on the Rector’s observation after visiting several faculties on the UNS campus, FEB has the most participants on the first day of work. After taking a photo together in the courtyard of the Bachtiar Effendi Building, the Rector gave a brief direction to encourage FEB academic community in maintaining the collaborative spirit. “Let’s keep the comradeship spirit. With this fellowship, we will be confident that we can make UNS more advanced,” he said.

The Rector of UNS apologized if there is any shortcomings in his leadership. Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum., is also very open to solving any problems conveyed by the UNS academic community for the advancement of UNS.

At the end of his direction, the Rector thanked the Dean, Vice Dean, Head of Study Program, Lecturer, and FEB academic support staff for their teamwork and loyalty. After the impromptu investigation, the Rector and other UNS Leaders had a brief exchange and discussion with the FEB Leaders in the FEB UNS Alumni Lounge Room.

Lecturers from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, participated in Assistance for IKU 3 and IKU 4 Data Reporting to SISTER. The assistance was hosted by Performance Assessment Team UNS, Thursday, 27 April 2023 at FEB UNS Computer Laboratory.

The Vice Dean for Human Resources, Finance, and Logistics FEB UNS, in her remarks, thanked the lecturers participating in the assistance, for taking the time to attend the agenda. Further, she reveals that the SISTER Data update is important aside from the urgent IKU 3 and IKU 4 report, which later will be the basis for BKD’s assessment.

“Hopefully, the lecturers can use this opportunity to help them in updating their SISTER account independently, at least once a semester. Therefore, after this transition all lecturers can be comfortable with the responsibility to update their SISTER account,” she said.

The session is also available for the lecturers, who have completed updating their accounts, to discuss other topics related to SISTER. Previously, Dr. Djuminah has sent several reminders through the lecturers’ chat group to share various information regarding IKU 3 and IKU 4 reporting. PowerPoint material has also been disseminated to lecturers, allowing them to learn the topic beforehand, the lecturers also requested to prepare any supporting documents in pdf format to have an efficient and effective assistance session.

The organizing committee divided lecturers into two groups, the first group (Kelompok I) consists of lecturers’ data that has not been included in IKU-4, which requires Competency Certification Certificate. The second group (Kelompok II) consists of lecturers who have conducted out-of-campus academic activities such as QS-100, working as industrial practitioners, and assignments as a supervisor for Outstanding Students mentoring.

Meanwhile, Iwan Kusmartono, S.H., the Coordinator for UNS Human Resources Office, in his remarks states that the HR Office will oversee or assist lecturers in filling their IKU-3 and IKU-4 reports, which will be closed today.

Hopefully, all FEB UNS lecturers can update their activities related to IKU-3 such as external assignments from other institutions and supervision for Outstanding Students. Meanwhile, for IKU-4, he considers the update sufficient.

In this event, lecturers can deliver any questions regarding the IKU update to the UNS HR team assigned to FEB UNS. Iwan also reminds the lecturers that if they receive any multi-year assignment starting from 2021 to 2024, the assignment letter can be updated in their system each year.

The festivity of Eid al-Fitr momentum is perfect to promote networking among FEB UNS Alumni. This opportunity was taken by alumni of the Football Student Activity Unit (UKM), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) by organizing Halal bi Halal Fun Football for alumni from any year intake. The event follows the concept of the Trofeo Cup, which is done by bringing together 3 teams at once.

The match was held on April 25, 2023, starting at 19.00 WIB at Klumprit Football Field, Mojolaban District, Sukoharjo.

The Trofeo Cup was attended by approximately 50 people from the Class of 1998 to the Class of 2018. Bester (Class of 2005 alumni), as the organizing committee, stated that this event was held as a reunion for the alumni of FEB UNS Football UKM and at the same time recommencing football matches between alumni that have been stopped for several years. FEB used to have a football event called Dokarmasale (Lecturer, Employee, Student, and Economics Alumni) which was held every year.

As the host, Sapto, an alumnus of the Class of 2003 who is currently also the Deputy of the Sukoharjo Regency DPRD, conveyed this event not only to maintain personal health but also aims to introduce the potential of football fields located in the village area. These football fields are now professionally managed, one of them is the Klumprit Village football field. This field is equipped with standardized lights, thus, it can be used for night matches.

Ariyanto Adhi Nugroho, Supervisor of FEB UNS Football UKM, who is also an alumnus of the class of 2002, encourages this type of activity. He considers these activities very beneficial for fellow FEB UNS alumni to expand their network. This event not only serves as a sports game but also to strengthen the FEB UNS Alumni network.

The Trofeo Cup is quite entertaining. Participants are divided into 3 teams, the Legend team (Class of 1998-2007), Oldstar (Class of 2008-2013), and Youngstar (Class of 2014-2018).

The final results of the match were 2-1 for the Legend vs Oldstar match; 3-0 score for the Oldstar vs Youngstar match, and lastly the Youngstar vs Legend match with a score of (5-4) on penalties. Overall the match was won by Youngstar Team. The ranking order for these matches was Youngstar Team on the 1st rank, followed by Legend Team on the 2nd rank, and Oldstar Team on the 3rd rank.

Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), was awarded as the Second Runner-up in the UNS Inclusion Metric Competition among the faculties and schools in UNS, which was held as part of the 47th UNS Anniversary Celebration in 2023.

The handover ceremony of the Winner’s Letter of Decree, Certificate, and Trophy was held on April 3, 2023, in the Press Room, on the 1st Floor of the UNS Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM).

The winner is determined through the Decree of the Head of the Center for Disability Study LPPM UNS No. 28/UN27.22.2.12/TU.00/2023 dated March 9, 2023. The decision was made by taking into account the documents and field visits assessment for the UNS Inclusion Metric Competition that has been carried out by the organizing committee throughout February-March 2023.

FEB has provided various supporting facilities for people with disabilities including parking lots, ramps, and toilets. However, there are still some things that need to be improved.

This year, to facilitate the learning process for deaf and speech-impaired students in FEB, the Dean has also assigned three Signal Spokesmen (JPI). In addition, the lecturers are also very supportive of these students through assistance and guidance.

Dra. Y. Anni Aryani, M.Proff., Acc., Ph.D., Ak, CSRS., CSRA., one of the FEB Lecturers also serving as a manager at the Center for Disability Studies (PSD) said that the construction of facilities has been regulated and must include facilities that support inclusion. In this case, in the UNS environment, there needs to be additions and improvements.

“To build a restroom must be in accordance with the standards, it needs to be accessible to people with disabilities, it is not enough to be wheelchair-accessible but need to have a handle, and sliding door. Likewise, for ramps, it must be in accordance with standards, not too steep, some facilities in FEB need to be fixed,” she said.

Additionally, FEB UNS has not put supporting facilities for the blind, there is no guiding block including no braille marking on other facilities. Further, it was revealed that the learning process standards in FEB need improvement.

“As it happens, there are students with hearing impairments in FEB. The lecturers should understand the standard for teaching students with disabilities, if the lecturer cannot use sign language, they shall ask for assistance from PSD UNS. There should be tools that can be used to help students with disabilities in attending lectures, faculty members can ask for guidance from PSD UNS.”

The tool in question is a type of software installed on the students’ laptops. Additionally, the students must sit at the front, and the lecturer must also understand that this way their voices will be more audible with clear articulation.

Therefore, to support disabled students during lectures, not only supporting tools, FEB UNS academic members also need to understand the special needs of disabled students.

The main psychological support from the leadership is crucial for the development of FEB UNS to be a highly inclusive faculty.

It needs the support and involvement of all parties to make FEB UNS an inclusive campus, not only lecturers, employees, and students, but also the support from the faculty leaders. Particularly in terms of budget to optimize and build disability facilities that are not yet available.
